ARS Issues Appeal for Syrian-Armenian Aid

The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) Eastern USA, Inc., issued the following appeal this week to assist the Armenian community in Syria.

Sponsor a hot meal

As the situation in Syria continues to worsen, and Syrian-Armenians continue to live in dire need of food and aid, the ARS Central Executive Board asks our community in the U.S. to sponsor “Hot Meals” for our brothers and sisters in Syria.

Since November 2012, the ARS Syria has been serving hot meals to needy families on a weekly basis. Approximately 100 people are currently being served each week.  The ARS Eastern USA has thus far sponsored 20 meals and, during Easter, donated $100 to each of the 15 orphans under the care of the ARS Syria.

The ARS now aims to expand its “Hot Meal” Program to twice a week.

We urge all ARS Eastern USA Chapters, members, as well as our supporters—Armenian and non-Armenian alike—to sponsor “Hot Meals.” The cost is only $3 per person, for each meal.

The Armenian community in Syria is relying on us in the face of major social and financial upheaval. We must act quickly. Our online donation lines are open. To make a donation, please visit www.arseastusa.org/donations/online_donation_form.html or send your donations to:

  1. I believe there are eleven Sosseh Kindergartens and they are located in Artsakh. The schools are sponsored by various ARS regions, chapters and benefactors. I have had the privilege of visiting some of the schools and they are a true asset to the people of Artsakh.

  2. God bless your wonderful mission.
That’s our obligatian and duty to help our Dear brothers and sisters in Syria.
