MOSCOW—A gala banquet held in Moscow and attend by Russian-Armenian businessmen raised $18 million for Armenia Fund activities, according to the Artsakh Times newspaper. Combined with the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund telethon held on Thanksgiving Day, which raised $12,286,478, the total pledged comes to more than $30 million.
The proceeds will benefit vital water and rural development projects in Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh).
During the gala, Argentine-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian announced plans for investments totaling $11 million in Artsakh in the coming year.
Nagorno Karabagh Republic President Bako Sahakian attended the gala.
