System of a Down is an Armenian American rock band that was formed in 1994 and went on an indefinite break in 2006. Its members are Serj Tankian (lead vocals, keyboard, guitar), Daron Malakian (vocals, guitar), Shavo Odadjian (bass, vocals), and John Dolmayan (drums). Many of the band’s songs deal with themes of injustices and war, such as the Armenian Genocide and the invasion of Iraq.
