Artsvi Bakhchinyan

Artsvi Bakhchinyan, Ph.D., is a Yerevan-based philologist and a researcher specializing in the Armenian Diaspora, as well as the history of film, choreography and Armenian biographies. He is also an accomplished writer and translator. Born in 1971 in Yerevan, he studied Armenian language and literature at Yerevan State University from 1988 to 1993. In 1996–1997, he served as an invited researcher at Uppsala University in Sweden. Since 2009, he has been affiliated with the Institute of History at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Armenian Diaspora section. Since 1987, Bakhchinyan has contributed articles on film, culture and various aspects of Armenian studies to periodicals both in Armenia and abroad, writing in Armenian, English, French and Russian. He is the author, editor and translator of approximately thirty books.
