Armenian students across the U.S. unite to fund education for displaced youth in Armenia
NEW YORK — The All-Armenian Student Association (All-ASA), in partnership with the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR), has launched a student-led campaign mobilizing 33 ASA chapters across the United States to raise $30,000 in support of Armenian Creative Technologies (ACT) College in Armenia.
The All-ASA x FAR National Fundraising Challenge calls on ASA chapters nationwide to organize fundraising events and mobilize their campus communities in support of the campaign. Through these collective efforts, students will help make a direct and lasting impact on their peers in Armenia.
Funds raised through the challenge will fully cover tuition for 12 students at ACT College, including several from Artsakh. Each contribution will help provide access to quality education, mentorship and career-building opportunities for Armenia’s next generation of innovators and leaders.
“It is remarkable and gratifying to see Armenian students here in the U.S. stepping up to support their counterparts in Yerevan,” said Bree Carriglio, FAR executive director of U.S. operations. “In Armenia, education and employment can be difference makers, and we have seen the significant impact that ACT students have on their families and communities. American students recognize that taking the initiative helps ensure a better future for generations of Armenians.”
“At All-ASA, we strive to create opportunities to strengthen our connection with Armenia, and supporting Armenian students is a natural extension of our efforts,” said Vincent Hovsepian, All ASA philanthropy chair. “As students ourselves, we recognize the importance of education and felt it was critical to support Armenian students, including our displaced brothers and sisters from Artsakh, and help equip the next generation to build a prosperous homeland.”
About the collaboration
The All-ASA x FAR National Fundraising Challenge is designed to be student-driven, competitive and community-centered. Chapters are encouraged to share stories, host creative
fundraisers and engage alumni and local supporters to maximize impact. The FAR team has also created a comprehensive resource folder for participating chapters, which includes a welcome packet, fundraising tips and tricks, event ideas, email and social media templates, student bios and more to help guide and inspire chapters’ efforts throughout the campaign.
The campaign reflects both organizations’ commitment to investing in education and strengthening ties between the diaspora and the next generation of Armenian professionals. A real-time leaderboard tracks each chapter’s progress, highlights top fundraisers and serves as the central hub where supporters can make donations.
