The “Nemesis” Monument and Turkey’s Reaction

It is absolutely correct to erect this monument! The brave Armenians who planned and carried out this retribution did a service to humanity. Consider that the trial of Soghomon Tehlirian was followed by Raphael Lemkin. This resulted in the concept that heads of state can not operate with impunity against their own citizens. Ultimately Lemkin coined the word Genocide. There were no “Nuremberg Trials” to hold the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide accountable. The men of Operation Nemesis carried out the trials to determine who was worthy of the death penalty. Once this was determined they went through painstaking efforts to only punish those who were guilty and prevent any collateral damage, even at risk of their own lives. The fact that they assassinated Armenian traitors is to be admired and shows they were not bigots, but committed to avenging those who perpetrated the Armenian Genocide.
Every Armenian should remember who organized this retribution, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.

Only after the glorification by Azeris displaying the helmets of fallen Armenian soldiers and Turkey recognized the Genocide should there be a dialog on the removal of the monument. Until that happens we need to commemorate the justice carried out be these heroes of Armenia.
Furthermore the Turks still glorify the hideous crimes of the Young Turks who have the blood of 2 million Christians and the robbery of these Ottoman citizens that fueled the revival of their economy.
The “Nemesis” Monument should not only never be removed but it should be put up and displayed all over Armenia including at the Armenia-Turkish border. To dismantle and remove this monument is to succumb to the terrorist Turkish pressure and to erase a very sad and an important part of our history which played a major role in terms of making the Armenian Genocide known to the world, and advanced the Armenian Cause, as well as erasing from memory the brave and patriotic patricians in this surgical operation who, in many ways and in hindsight, arguably played a major role in putting an end to the genocidal Ottoman empire by assassinating its leadership, and their criminal collaborators, who had escaped justice and had been hiding in various parts of the world planning to regroup to return to power.
As a thorn in the eyes of the Turkish fascists, this monument is also symbolic in the sense that it reminds the Turkish terrorists that we not only have not forgotten their premeditated and state-sponsored terrorism and the genocide of our people, and have no intention to do so until they come clean with their criminal past and face the consequences of their actions, but also a reminder to them that what happened to their predecessors can also happen to them should they think they can commit crimes against our nation with impunity. The removal of this monument should be considered treasonous and their authors and advocates punished accordingly!
How can a foreign, unfriendly, dangerous country such as turkey dictate what can be displayed in Armenia. This is ridiculous.
