During the meeting, Hakobyan praised the Armenian Diaspora’s role—particularly the role of the ARF and its sister organizations—in supporting the Republic of Armenia. She also praised the Homenetmen scouting jamborees, which take place every four years in Armenia, and the important role they play in introducing young diasporans to the homeland.

The issue of Syrian Armenians was also discussed, as Hakobyan detailed how the Armenian government has been helping those who have relocated to Armenia as a result of the ongoing conflict in Syria. She urged the two diasporan representatives to continue their cooperation with the Armenian authorities, so that through shared resources, the plight of the Syrian Armenians is mitigated as much as possible.
