Volume 29 of Haigazian Armenological Review Published

BEIRUT, Lebanon (A.W.)—On May 14, Haigazian University launched the 29th volume of its Armenological Review in the presence of the university’s president, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, parliament member Dr. Yeghia Jerejian, and scholars and intellectuals from the Lebanese Armenian community.

The program opened with the welcoming words of the journal’s editorial board member Armen Urneshlian, who spoke about the important role of this yearly gathering to celebrate the release of the Armenological Review, and to discuss matters that concern Armenian studies.

Jerejian, the keynote speaker, highlighted the pivotal role the Ministry of Diaspora in Armenia is playing regarding Armenian studies, and surveyed the basic prospective problems and the ways of addressing these problems.

Father Antranig Granian, editor in chief of the journal, spoke with pride about the 29th volume, and said he considered it as a major achievement in both its scientific approach and content, and the seriousness of the research papers included.

In his concluding remarks, Haidostian praised the Armenological Review as a major accomplishment for the university, and described the work of its editorial board as “monumental.”

In its 484 pages, the 29th volume of the Haigazian Armenological Review features research articles by Anahide Ter Minassian, Grigor Ortoyan, Yeghig Djeredjian, Vahram L. Shemmassian, Khatchig Mouradian, Tsovinar Movsisian, and Zaven Messerlian. It also includes three briefings, two previously unpublished documents, and three book reviews.
