‘The Promise’ Film’s U.S. Rights Acquired by ‘Spotlight’ Distributor Open Road Films
Film to Hit Theaters in April 2017
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (A.W.)—Open Road Films has acquired the United States distribution rights to the late Kirk Kerkorian’s legacy project—the much anticipated Armenian Genocide epic “The Promise.” The film, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on Sept. 11, is set to be released in theaters on April 28, 2017, reported Deadline Hollywood.

I can’t wait to see this movie. My grandmother told me what her husbands parents told her; this is a well documented case of genocide and Turkey has basically gotten away with it for 100 years. Times are changing. My great grandfathers last name was Popodayian, he shortened it to Dayian after his flight from genocide in Armenia. America does not need allies like Turkey.
