Umit Kurt

Ümit Kurt is the author of Is the Justice and Development Party a Center-Right Party? and Great, Hopeless Turkish Race: Fundamentals of Turkish Nationalism in the Turkish Homeland 1911-1916. He is also co-author of Rise of Think Tanks: Foreign Policy and National Security Culture in Turkey. His book The Spirit of the Laws: The Plunder of Wealth in the Armenian Genocide, co-authored with Taner Akçam, will be published in English in May 2015. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the history department at Clark University and is an instructor at Sabancı University’s history department.
