More than a century later, Gomidas’ voice was heard once again

More than a century after it was first recorded, the voice of Gomidas once again reached audiences.

The result of a six-year dream by Istanbul-born Armenian singer Sibil, this special project brought together “Arorn Ou Tatrakn” (“The Curlew and the Turtledove”) with Gomidas’ own historic voice recording.

The project aimed not only to preserve Gomidas’ musical legacy but also to bring his own voice to new generations. By uniting a historic recording with a contemporary musical interpretation, it created a meaningful bridge between the past and the present.

The musical arrangement was created by Vahan Nahapetyan. Mixing and mastering were completed by Hmayak Rostomyan. The blul performance is by Hasmik Muradyan Harutyunyan. The music video was directed by Artyom Abovyan.

The project was made possible through the generous support of Herman Hintiryan and AGBU.
