Genocide 2.0: Artsakh Ethnic Cleansing short preview among 2024 Suncoast Regional Emmy® nominees

FLORIDA—Armenoid Productions, producers of the Faces of Persecution documentary series, has announced that the short preview of its Genocide 2.0: Artsakh Ethnic Cleansing episode has been nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for its annual Suncoast Regional Emmy® Awards in the Religion, Short Form Content category.

The 7.5-minute short preview of the 60-minute feature documentary, Genocide 2.0: Artsakh Ethnic Cleansing, is an episode of the Faces of Persecution: Exploring Global Religious Oppressions documentary series that seeks funding to finalize production. 

The episode features interviews with prominent public and global figures including Luis Moreno Ocampo (first prosecutor, International Criminal Court, 2003- 2012), Baroness Caroline Cox (member, British House of Lords and founder, Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust), David L. Phillips (adjunct professor, Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Georgetown University), Judge Gassia Apkarian (California state jurist, Orange County), Karnig Kerkonian (international lawyer), Michael Rubin (senior fellow, American Enterprise Institute, Director of Policy Analysis, Middle East Forum), Thomas Becker, Ph.D. (legal and policy director, University Network for Human Rights), Joel Veldkamp, Ph.D. (Christian Solidarity International), Ambassador Sam Brownback (former Ambassador At Large, International Religious Freedom) and Simon Maghakyan, Ph.D. (Security and Defence Studies/Heritage Crime, Cranfield University).

Forcibly displaced Artsakh residents Tigran Petrosyan, a cinematographer whose father was killed in the gas depot explosion and son suffered severe burns, independent journalist Siranush Sargsyan, Anahit Gevorkyan, whose children at eight and two years old were killed by Azerbaijani bombings, and Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, the primate of the Diocese of the Artsakh Armenian Apostolic Church, will also be featured.  

The production team is led by Bared Maronian and Jackie Abramian. Maronian is a director, producer and four-time Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker with over 20 years of broadcast, film and multimedia production experience. Abramian is a writer, producer, seasoned corporate communications strategist and magazine contributor on social justice issues.
