ARS Continues Syrian-Armenian Relief Efforts

The Armenian Relief Society (ARS) has been an active and influential humanitarian organization for over a century, and puts great effort and energy into reaching out to aid every needy Armenian family.

Since the beginning of the crisis in Syria five years ago, the worldwide chapters of the Armenian Relief Society, through the efforts of the ARS of Syria, have succeeded in playing a vital and important role in the relief efforts. For example, they have provided hot meals and allocated funds to purchase 200 liters of fuel.

On the morning of Sept. 5, the ARS of Syria Regional Executive distributed recently raised funds to Armenian families in need.

The representative of the Syrian Regional Executive of the ARS, Sosi Pilavjian, welcomed the attendees and thanked the ARS of Eastern USA and its chapters, members, and donors, for their work and contributions. She also briefly addressed the programs and projects that were implemented by the ARS of Syria in addition to the worldwide activities and programs of the ARS.

Pilavjian said she fervently hopes that the suffering of the Syrian people comes to an end soon, and that Syrian Armenians are able to regain their standing and return to life as it was before the war.
