  1. Please get your facts right: The trip was led by Armen Aroyan, the “retired aerospace engineer” and the 81 year old retired history professor is Richard Hovanissian, possibly the world’s foremost expert on Armenian history, especially as it relates to the Ottoman period and the Genocide.

  2. Ara, I think the article does suggest what you are demanding, as you ask, “…get your facts right.” You gotta leave some ambiguity in a press release. It is, after all, NOT the 40-minute film. Judge the film, not a couple of sentences designed to ignite your imagination.

Armen Aroyan has organized these trips, for years. Of all Armenians, living or dead, he, very likely, has travelled around Western Armenia…more than anyone. That is impressive, in itself.
Dr. Hovannisian, as you will see in the documentary, played a major role, if not the most important role: giving insightful hotel-conference-room lectures, steeped in his decades of wisdom, every morning. He also made himself available and accessible throughout the trip. It is what made this journey so unique: having “the father of Armenian Studies” programs, in America, along for the ride. The documentary captures an experience that will never be duplicated.

A press release is not the same as watching a 40-minute documentary, which as you will see in the first 39 minutes…and…in the credits, during the last 1 minute, “features Richard Hovannisian, Ph.D.” Do not worry, Professor Hovannisian was not sold short in the documentary. In fact, he made my job of shooting, reporting, writing, narrating, and editing…exceedingly easy.

Dr. H should probably demand to be listed as a co-producer:)

Ara, enjoy the documentary. There has been no long-form, non-fiction film, like this one, ever done, anywhere. It played on KLCS in Los Angeles, for thousands of non-Armenians to see, and it was nominated for Best Documentary at the Los Angeles Press Club Awards in June 2015.

And…wait until you see who else is in it!!!!!!!!
