To culminate with ‘final inning’ reception and prize drawing on July 13
WATERTOWN, Mass.—The sports streak began with the Bruins beating Montreal in their fight to reclaim the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1972. Then, the Red Sox swept the opening series against the Yankees. Meanwhile, the Celtics trumped the Bulls after seven nail-biting games in their quest to remain NBA champs. Soon enough, Tom Brady will rejoin the Patriots on the road to Super Bowl redemption.
New England sports fans, this is your year.
As excitement builds across New England stadiums, the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) is holding its 2009 Spring Sports Raffle. This annual fundraising campaign gives ALMA supporters the chance to score high-priced, highly prized sports packages to home games of professional New England teams.
ALMA is celebrating the raffle’s fifth anniversary by offering eight phenomenal prize packages, giving participants more opportunities to win than ever before. The grand prize features a Fenway Park luxury box for 22 guests to watch the Red Sox face the Toronto Blue Jays on Aug. 30. The package, valued at $9,000, includes parking, food, and beverages. Patriots luxury box seats, Bruins club seats, Celtics courtside seats, and prime seats to see the Red Sox take on the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox are also being raffled off. This year, ALMA is introducing New England Revolution soccer tickets and Boston Blazers lacrosse tickets into the prize mix.
The Spring Sports Raffle will culminate with the prize drawing and special “final inning” reception on Mon., July 13 from 7-8 p.m. While winners need not be present, all raffle supporters can attend the hour-long celebration to meet Boston Globe sportswriter Tony Massarotti, a surprise sports celebrity, and enjoy ballpark snacks and beverages. The event will conclude with Massarotti drawing the winning tickets.
Raffle participants can buy one ticket for $100 or take advantage of the fifth anniversary special and buy five tickets for $300. Tickets can be purchased with a major credit card on ALMA’s website (www.almainc.org) or by contacting the ALMA offices at (617) 926-2562 ext. 3 or 4. All proceeds from this campaign will benefit ALMA’s exhibits, programs, and work in preserving Armenian artifacts and history.
