The 2nd Annual Armenian Film Series (Boston, Mass.)

MAY 1-3, 2009 * THE SECOND ANNUAL ARMENIAN FILM SERIES. To be held at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Fri., May 1—Opening night film and reception at 7 p.m. “The Blue Hour” by Eric Nazarian, (U.S., 2007, 93 min), the 2008 winner of the Golden Apricot Prize. Cast includes Karen Kondazian.  A multi-ethnic ensemble drama that explores the connections between a Mexican graffiti muralist, an Armenian camera repairman, an African-American blues guitarist, and an English pensioner. The film is about families that do not communicate with each other by any language, but the only thing that brings them together is the Los Angeles river. Preceded by “Dinner Time,” a one-minute short by 14-year-old Gor Bagdassaryan from Armenia and winner of the UNICEF Prize. Screening will be followed by a reception and Q&A with filmmaker Eric Nazarian. Tickets are $25 ($20 for members, seniors, and students).
