Two NKR Servicemen Wounded by Azerbaijani Fire on April 17

STEPANAKERT, NKR (A.W.)—Two Nagorno-Karabagh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Defense Army servicemen were wounded on April 17, according to the NKR Defense Ministry. Violating the ceasefire nearly 50 times, Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired various caliber weapons along the NKR Line of Contact (LoC) on the night of April 17-18.

On April 17, two NKR Defense Army servicemen, Erik Matevosyan (b. 1991) and Azad Barsamyan (b. 1996), were wounded when Azerbaijan opened fire on military positions in the northern section of the LoC.

The Azerbaijani forces also attempted a diversion operation with a 20-person unit in the eastern (Agna) direction. The NKR Defense Army intercepted and blocked the attempt. The ministry noted that Azerbaijan had fired 82-mm mortars in the northeastern (Martakert) direction.

The NKR Defense Army remains resolute in monitoring the LoC, announced the NKR Defense Ministry in a statement.

  1. Is counting the cease fire violations the answer to reversing the Azerbaijani attacks?
Much, and much more seems to be in order, to counter the turkish provoked azeri attacks.

  2. This has come as a blessing and a curse to armrnians. Obviously we cannot afford this loss of life, especially as Russia and the EU are probably not allowing the Republic of armenia to retaliate or to recognise NK. However, with April 24th coming up, all the Armenians who said that we should move on or that we should forgive the Turks will be embarrassed to say this. They can no longer say that the Turks have changed, as the head of the Turkish organisation in Sweden has proved. You could say it’s like a wake up call for us to be United and to not let down our mental guard. Let me know what you guys think.
