Garen Yegparian

Garen Yegparian is a fat, bald guy who has too much to say and do for his own good. So, you know he loves mouthing off weekly about anything he damn well pleases to write about that he can remotely tie in to things Armenian. He's got a checkered past: principal of an Armenian school, project manager on a housing development, ANC-WR Executive Director, AYF Field worker (again on the left coast), Operations Director for a telecom startup, and a City of LA employee most recently (in three different departments so far). Plus, he's got delusions of breaking into electoral politics, meanwhile participating in other aspects of it and making sure to stay in trouble. His is a weekly column that appears originally in Asbarez, but has been republished to the Armenian Weekly for many years.

The fact remains, however, Armenians keep on blaming Russia for betrayal, Azerbaijan for using oil money to buy weapons of mass destruction from Israel to hush Azeri citizens, Turkey for training ISIS to send all over the world, and other. What Armenians need to face is the failure of the Armenian leadership.
Face the lack of forward looking constructive plans on the part of the diaspora for Artsakh and Armenia, failure to wait for the once a year fund raiser to donate to the betterment of Artsakh and Armenia. The list is long. In the final analysis, allowing the regular Azeri/trukish attacks to take place with losses of precious souls. Furthermore, well meaning, and not so well meaning NGOs, and cults abound in both countries providing false hopes. Total dedication on the part of the diaspora and the local leadership, i.e. cohesiveness, will take care of the needs of the population and eventually make outside “assistance” redundant.
