Governor Newsom Denies Sassounian Parole
(ASBAREZ)—Despite a recommendation in December by the Board of Parole in favor of Hampig Sassounian’s suitability, on Tuesday, May 26 California Governor Gavin Newsom rejected that decision and denied his parole, saying in a lengthy decision that while he acknowledged the steps Sassounian had taken over decades to rehabilitate himself, he did not believe Sassounian to be fit for release.

Since when is fighting to avenge your family’s murder and that of your people’s a crime? Only because Turkey is the spoilt child of NATO and of the USA that the Americans do the bidding of Turkey and the Turkish lobby. I don’t condone murder, but he isn’t this devil as Turkish lobbies make him out to be.
Ignore the typical bile from Turkey. I doubt that Newsome cares about it. What was the specific evidence that Newsom relied on in denying the recommendation of the Parole Board?
Everyone should get a second chance. I have been in the system for 15 years now, I am now in a program, rehabilitating myself, and because I qualify for the youth offender sb 260, I still got denied parole and it was like my growth from the age of 20 to now does not matter.we made mistakes, but our past should not define who we are today!!
