At the time of this writing, according to the Ministry of Health, 59 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Armenia, bringing the total number of cases to 1,867, of which 971 are active; officials say 659 people have recovered and 30 people have died.
While Armenia is in a state of emergency, it is unclear to me what the Government of Armenia (GoA) is thinking in terms of how

Just to be clear: Armenia is NOT abandoning social distancing – It HAS been undergoing a gradual reopening of the economy over the last 2 weeks which is expected to continue in coming months. Businesses which are reopening are still meant to operate under strict regulations and people are asked to wear masks and wash hands and so on. Public transport is still off line for the time being and venues typically gathering large groups of people (concert halls, malls, schools, universities, shopping centers, etc.) are still closed.
Will that work to stop the virus? Obviously not, the numbers are likely to keep rising, but its better than nothing at this point.
Dear Raffy, looking at the facts a month after your comment we can easily see that the lack of “strict” enforcement continued to further endanger the country. More on the in my next article.
