Hairenik Association Donates Rare Books, Periodicals to NAASR
BELMONT, Mass.—Rare books from the 1800s published by Armenian presses around the world, as well as precious bound volumes of Armenian newspapers from the early 1900s and other hard-to-find treasures, have been donated to the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR) by the Hairenik Association. This collection represents a significant addition to NAASR’s Mardigian Library and will become accessible to the public after NAASR’s new Vartan Gregorian Building opens on Nov

I’m curious as to how preservation issues will be approached and tackled. Any plans for digitization? There are probably a lot of items that needs to be digitized for preservation purposes alone. Thanks~
I have a large leather bound book of beautiful copies of brilliant paintings related to Jesus, Mary and the Apostles. The text is in Armenian . It’s in excellent condition, each page kept archivally between non-acid interleaving, thin paper. I think it’s from the late 1800s. I inherited this huge and beautiful book. I would to sell it to a donor, so the donor can give it to your museum. Or a Armenian institution, like a university which has Armenian Studies I would like it to be available for scholars If you can help with this proposal I would be extremely happy to pass this book into good hands where scholars can view it. Carefully!
