The political bloc of PM Nikol Pashinyan—'My Step'—dominated Sunday’s municipal elections in Yerevan. Comedian-turned politician Hayk Marutian garnered over 81-percent of the votes (more than what was required to have a top mayoral candidate). With this victory, Marutian is positioned to become mayor of Yerevan—Armenia’s largest city with a population of 1.8 million people.

Wow!!! Impressive and formidable victory for “My Step” and PM Pashinian.
“My Step” had 81.50% of the vote. All remaining 11 blocs got a total of 18.5% of the vote, with Prosperous Armenia party a very distant second with only 6.95% of the vote.
Without any doubt, it shows that the ” Velvet Revolution” continues, is on solid ground and the electorate wants change. What is also remarkable is that the opposition conceded defeat and there were no allegations of fraud or voter manipulation.
Hope and pray that PM Pashinian is successful. The country needs it.
