ALMA to Display Works by Vako Armeno

WATERTOWN, Mass.—Armenian artist Vartkes Khakhamian, also known as Vako Armeno, is renowned for his brightly imaginative works filled with intense concentration of light and movement. On Fri., October 1, the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) will open a remarkable exhibition by this talented painter. The collection will be on display in ALMA’s Contemporary Art Gallery (3rd floor) and will feature a range of oil and acrylic paintings on canvas. The public is invited to attend a gallery reception on Oct. 7 from 6-9 p.m. in the museum’s Contemporary Art Gallery. The works will remain on display and for sale through Oct. 18, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting ALMA.

Vako Armeno graduated from Toros-Roslin Fine Arts Academy in Beirut and later earned his master’s degree in fine arts from the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, Armenia. His paintings have been featured in private and collective exhibitions in Jordan, Cyprus, Greece, and Lebanon, among other places. Additionally, private collectors from Armenia, Greece, Kuwait, UK, Germany, Indonesia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States have obtained his works.
