Elizabeth Hovnanian passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 14, after 87 wonderful years of loving and caring for others, especially her family. She taught us all the meaning of generosity, and dignity along with the importance of tradition, a word that had deep meaning to her, especially at holiday gatherings, which created the fondest memories for so many. Elizabeth was an extraordinary person who filled everyone’s heart unconditionally with her very special love, and we feel immeasurably blessed to have been touched by her everlasting spirit.
Elizabeth was the beloved honeybunch of the late Jirair S. Hovnanian. Loving mother of Stephen and Nancy, Peter and Theresa. Devoted grandmother of Stephan and Lisa, Haig, Garo and Tamar, Karinne and Krikor, Janeen and Tanya, and great grandmother of Ariana, Christina, Sophia and Ella. Dear sister of Samuel, Manuel, Joseph, and Peter Vosbikian and the late Sarah Hovsepian and Virginia DerHagopian.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. on Tues., May 18 at St. Gregory’s Armenian Apostolic Church, 8701 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, Pa., with Services to follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, N.J. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jirair S. and Elizabeth Hovnanian Family Foundation, 900 Birchfield Dr., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054.
