WATERTOWN, Mass.—Aram Arkun, an historian, the executive director of the Tekeyan Cultural Association, and the assistant editor of the Armenian Mirror Spectator, will talk about “Zeytun: The Armenian Eagles’ Nest” on Mon., Dec. 7, at the St. James Men’s Club dinner meeting in Watertown.
Arkun is a specialist in modern Armenian history and has published a number of articles on Ottoman- and Iranian-Armenian topics. He has also translated books and articles from Armenian, French and Turkish.
He was formerly the coordinator of the Krikor and Clara Zohrab Information Center of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern) and editor of the quarterly English-language Armenian periodical “Ararat,” published by the Armenian General Benevolent Union.
Arkun received his B.A. from Princeton University, his master’s degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and a C. Phil. from UCLA. He has taught at New York University, UCLA, and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
The social hour starts with mezza at 6:15 p.m., followed by a complete kheyma and
losh kebab dinner at 7 p.m., for $14 per person. The dinner meeting will be held at the St. James Armenian Church, Charles Mosesian Cultural and Youth Center, Keljik Hall, in Watertown. The event is open to the public.
