Poem: Stranger

I search

In their eyes

And do not see me

I hear only the silent sighs

In my soul, as I fail to see

Me on their minds as time flies

Falls and drowns in a deep blue sea

Of loneliness…

Ever a stranger

I walk alone

Carrying in my arms

Their indifference heavy as stone

Cold as death that comes

Too late to atone

For a rejected heart worn

On a frayed sleeve…
