D.C. Attackers Yildirim and Narin Receive One Year and One Day in Prison; ANCA Says Light Sentences Chill Free Speech in America
WASHINGTON—Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Executive Director Aram Hamparian, a witness to the May 16, 2017, Recep Tayyip Erdogan-ordered attacks on peaceful protesters in Washington, D.C., sharply criticized a Washington D.C. Superior Court ruling today which gave light sentences to two of the Turkish American attackers. They had initially been charged with hate crimes and other violations and faced up to 15 years of incarceration.

ARAM, all community: I will not forget. There is no acceptance of the Turkey repression nor harm to protesting human rights and religious.
Disappointing, I tought president Trump was going to make the difference, unfortunatly encore is in the tube, it seems justice is not the same for everybody.
Had Armenians attacked the Turks, they would have received–all of them not just two out of many–5 years min. Is this your justice, America “the Great” ?!
Again, the US, like Europe and Israel, indulges its Turkish brat.
It’s not because Turkey is strong. It’s because the West is weak-kneed.
Did you really expect the US justice system to really take strong action against the turks who also have enormous power and lobbyist within the system? come on, we as Armenians should know better. The turks are laughing. The senators? well! you can imagine the pressure they must have put on the so called “JUSTICE” system. An absolute disgrace.
