Arpi Sarafian
Arpi Sarafian holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, and a B.A. and M.A. from the American University of Beirut. She was a lecturer in English Language and Literature at the California State University, Los Angeles (1978-retirement in 2014). She has published articles in The Armenian Observer, The Armenian Mirror Spectator, Virginia Woolf Miscellany, and The Los Angeles Times.

Najarian’s books all have great depth. I just re-read the passage
from Naked and the Nude –of Najarian’s first long hitch=hiking into
Mexico…it’s every bit as powerful as Kerouac’s road passages…likewise
Najarian’s pride and evocation of the Armenian experiece reminds me of
Saroyan’s insight into suffering that cannot be wished away. Najarian’s
7 books are of one piece, as was Thomas Wolf’s. Najarian is a major
American writer.
