NKR Defense Army units continue to control the situation along the LoC, retaliating only in cases of extreme necessity, according to the Ministry statement.

Shortly after Khachatryan’s death, it was announced that NKR President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree, which posthumously awarded the serviceman with the “For Service in Battle” medal for bravery shown during the defense of the NKR border.
