Special for the Armenian Weekly

A traditional torch-lit procession organized by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Youth moved from Yerevan’s Liberty Square towards the hilltop Armenian Genocide Memorial at Tsitsernakaberd late on April 23.

Below are Armenian Weekly contributor Ric Gazarian’s photographs from the march.

  1. From Yerevan to Stepanakert to Moscow to Istanbul to Beirut to Tehran to Aleppo to Paris to Toronto to Boston and to Los Angeles (as well as all the other Armenian communities on this planet), we all remembered our 1.5 million precious martyrs who were victims of the first modern genocide in world history. And, even after 101 years, our fire continues to burn! This fire, represents our endless pursuit for the long overdue justice owed to the Armenian people, as well as the enormous perseverance of the Armenian people in preserving their precious culture along with their precious Hayrenik. Let our mortal enemies be fully aware that even if it takes another 101 years, or perhaps longer, the Armenian Nation will keep going and going and going and going and going until the very end, and will employ any means necessary to obtain its long overdue justice! The Armenian people, will never settle for anything less!
