Karabagh Parliament Welcomes Crimea Vote

Stepanakert residents gather at Rebirth Square for a concert dedicated to Crimea’s self-determination

STEPANAKERT—The political factions represented in the Nagorno-Karabagh Republic’s National Assembly on March 18 issued an announcement welcoming Crimea’s vote on secession from Ukraine as an expression of national self-determination.

A joint statement signed by the Motherland, Democracy and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation faction and the “Artsakhatun” deputy group said that Sunday’s referendum in Crimea “has become another precedent of realization of the right of peoples to self-determination, once again proving that territorial integrity of states does not prevail over people’s free expression of will in international law.”

The announcement welcomed Crimea’s vote and emphasized that on December 10, 1991, the people of Nagorno-Karabagh “realized its right to self-determination and through a referendum gave their decisive word for the independent Nagorno Karabagh Republic, which was re-affirmed by the results of the Constitutional Referendum of December 10, 2006.”

The Karabagh parliament also urged that post-referendum matters be resolved peacefully and based on mutual respect.

Meanwhile, in Stepanakert’s Rebirth Square, the city’s first spring concert was dedicated to the Crimean vote.

“The venue was not randomly chosen. Twenty-two years ago the people of Nagorno-Karabagh began their struggle for self-determination from this very square,” the executive editor of the Artsakh State TV told RFE/RL’s Lusine Musayelian.

High level Karabagh leaders, among them President Bako Sahakian and Parliament Speaker Ashot Ghulian attended the concert.

“The concert is called Artsakh supports nations’ self-determination,” Presidential spokesperson David Babayan told RFE/RL.

  1. I think it was very naive of both Mr. Serge Sarkisian and the National assembly of Artsakh to applaude so indiscreetly the decision of Crimean “Parliament” to secede from Ukraine. It is utterly wrong to compare Artsakh and Crimea with each other as there are big differences between the two and the circumstances surrounding them. Mr. Putin is not known to be the champion of freedom of people and the right of self determination. Protection of the Russian-speaking section of the population was only a pretext to ensure the continued possession of the strategic naval bases in the Black Sea region, without which Russia would be choked with no access to warm waters. As it stands, there are no black-and white sides in the Crimean conflict. It would be therefore much more sensible for Armenian leaders to avoid taking sides openly on this sensitive issue. This is just another blunder, just like Zori Balayan’s ill-advised call to Putin to annex Karabakh to Russia.

    • On the contrary, there are many similarities. Artsakh was given to the newly-cooked nation of “Azerbaijan” in the early 1920s, just like Russian Crimea was given to Ukraine in the 1950s. In the case of Artsakh, it was a unilateral decision of one Soviet leader, Stalin, just like in the case of Crimea it was a unilateral decision of Khrushchev. The motives in both cases were the same: both Russian leaders considered that in their multinational state it didn’t actually matter what ethnically homogeneous chunk of land would form a part of a Soviet republic. Both Artsakh and Crimea have employed the internationally-recognized right of people’s self-determination and conducted perfectly legal national referendums on succession.

  2. ‘no black-and white sides in the Crimean conflict’? The day after the EU had negotiated an agreement between the Ukrainian government and the three opposition groups the US activated their fascist Svoboda and Right Sector groups that shot and killed Maiden demonstrators and also police (listen to the Estonian ministry phone call, verified by the Estonian government). The new Kiev government has placed several Svoboda and Right Sector personnel in powerful positions in its security agencies. Agents of these groups stand behind Ukraine legislators with a hammer to make sure they vote the right way.

In WW2 we expended immense treasure and blood to defeat the fascist filth. I know evil when I see it, and I will not accept the US aiding and abetting fascists. And for what? So that the EU can plow Ukraine for its resources and cheap labor? To push NATO up closer to Russia which Russia will never allow, risking war?

If the EU and US can support the separation of Kosovo from Serbia it is hypocrisy not to support Crimea joining the Russian Federation and for Nagorno-Karabakh to join Armenia. NATO invaded and detached Kosovo from Serbia, so what is the difference between that and Crimea separating from Ukraine, or Nagorno-Karabakh joining Armenia?

  3. This has to be one of the most short-sighted and self-destructive decisions that Karabagh has made. Making a loud statement to defend Russia’s aggression against Ukraine? By an entity that barely exists and that owes its continued existence to the patience of the U.S. and the international community? Can their leaders be this short-sighted? As if anyone cares about what “NKR” thinks, now “NKR” is going out of its way to declare that it is taking the side of a thug such as Putin? At least Serge played the “neutrality” game with Armenia’s foreign policy, and with some justification. With Armenia and “NKR” being so weak and vulnerable, do they really think they can afford to take such a foolish stand against the West? Again, this is the kind of fatal blunder that happens in the absence of democracy, when honest political debate is stifled, and talented Armenians are pushed out of the country.

    • Crimea was given away in 1954 by Ukrainian descent Khrushchev, because USSR never had a right boundaries, after all they were brothers Communists and Comrad. Bolshevik Lenin also gave away Artsakh, Western Armenia and Nakhichevan to Turkic tribes. Armenians of the world are suffering, even today, for their losses to Turkey and Axerbaijan!

    • @Vahagn, It is interesting how you paint Putin as a thug and the Americans as angels to whom, and their coconspirators, the free and legitimate republic of Artsakh owes its existence. You must have forgotten who it was that cooked up some fabricated stories and delivered outright lies about Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction in front of the very same international community thus validating and legitimizing America’s predetermined invasion of Iraq. This lie alone caused thousands of American servicemen to lose their lives and hundreds of thousands sustaining life-long injuries, not to mention several Trillions of dollars of hard-earned tax-payer money to finance the invasion. Of course, this was an invasion preplanned by the Zionists infiltrated n the American government to use and sacrifice the blood of the American sons and daughters to free Israel from scud-missile firing Saddam Hussein from power, but that is a whole different story by itself.

The free republic of Artsakh does not owe its existence to the Americans because if it did it would have officially been recognized by the Americans, the so-called only “true democracy” in the world long time ago. You would think that such “true democracy” as the United States would be the first to welcome and defend the rights of the indigenous Armenians of Artsakh to live freely as they so choose. On the contrary, the United States and its European coconspirators keep dragging their feet with their double-talks because the cheap oil flow from the Azergayjani oil fields and their illegitimate loyalty to their genocidal Turkish NATO ally, masters and pimps to the the artificial Azergayjani republic, takes precedence over the rights of the Armenians to live safely and free from the Turkish thugs.

You keep pushing your “democracy” agenda every chance you get but I never see you defending the democratic rights of the indigenous Armenians in the ancient Armenian province of Artsakh for legitimately expressing their will to rejoin the motherland by freeing themselves from the illegal hold on them by the artificial state of Azergayjan, from its pseudo-Turkish Azergayjani criminal thugs and from their genocidal Turkish pimps.

The so-called democracy is a one-way street. It either exists or it does not and it must be applied to all equally. You can’t have it both ways.

    • @Ararat
The US did not annex Iraq. We got in, removed Saddam, stayed for 10 years, and got out. Russia got in and annexed Crimea. Big difference.

If I “push” for NKR’s democratic rights, it will not make one iota of difference on the ground. However, NKR and Armenia will be able to fulfill their national aspirations if they adopt what I am pushing for: a U.S.-style democracy. That is how I a contributing to the realization of Armenians’ democratic rights. I show you the way to become strong and prosperous, proven by historical experience. If Armenia adopts a U.S.-style democracy, it will in time extend from Kura to Euphrates. If not, it will remain a weak pawn among the great powers, as it has for centuries.

  4. After sixty years, we saw the reunification of Crimea with Russia. It was a wonderful event for all self-respecting Russians. By correcting the mistakes of Communism, Moscow also set a wonderful precedence for Armenians of Artsakh.

It is my opinion that as long as Yerevan preserves its strategic ties with Moscow and works to cultivate better Russo-Armenian relations, we Armenians will sooner-or-later also see a similar reunification of Artsakh with Armenia – with full Russian backing. But, first thing’s first: Before we expect Russians to assist us in such a manner, we as a people need to rid ourselves of our Asiatic ways, Russophobia, political ignorance and Western agents. As long as Armenia flirts with the political West and continues to host an army of Western operative and organizations, Moscow will keep Armenia vulnerable, dependent and on a very short leash. Today, Armenia’s “complimentary politics” is a serious liability for Armenia. This is no longer the 1990s. The West is in a decline. For the foreseeable future, we will have to live with a resurgent Bear. The good news for us is that Russian and Armenian interests align. Moscow needs Armenia as a southern fortress protecting Russia’s vulnerable underbelly from Western inroads, pan-Turkism and Islam. Our enemies and their enemies are essentially the same. Armenia today has a strategic partner that is a global superpower, and one that is the alpha and the omega of Caucasian politics. We need to exploit this historic opportunity for Armenia’s long term benefit. If we want Armenia to prosper one day, we need to stop our pursuit of Western fantasies (democracy, free speech, civil society, gay rights, globalism, etc) and begin to better understand the nuances of geopolitics and Armenia’s place in it.

For once let’s stop admiring Jews and let’s start acting like them. Instead of fearmongering about the growth of Russian power, let’s realize that Armenians can be in Russia what Jews are in America.

And if we cant do any of the above and we continue our traditional self-destructive path in politics, I much rather see Armenia get incorporated into the Russian Federation. At the end of the day, it’s better to live with Russians similar to Ossetians or Abkhazians than live like a bunch of endangered gypsies under Turco-Western rule. Armenian independence from Russia means Armenian dependence on Turkey. No Russia in the south Caucasus means no Armenia in the south Caucasus. It’s all that simple. We all need to wake up from our Qaj Nazar fantasies and EUrotic dreams and realize that there are no alternatives to this reality.

  5. Contrary to what that democracy-obsessed Turkbaijani poster was saying earlier, the Republic of Artsakh has every right to welcome Crimea’s self-determination. If the people of Artsakh wish to celebrate this occasion, then they are welcome to celebrate. And, the Republic of Artsakh certainly does not owe its continued existence to the United States. The United States contributed absolutely nothing to Artsakh’s independence, nor to its continued existence. As a matter of fact, the United States continuously sends military aid to the terrorist nation of Azerbaijan, who desperately and unsuccessfully attempts to end Artsakh’s existence.

Once again, the Republic of Armenia made the correct decision in joining the Russian Customs Union, which was obviously done for the sake of its national security. By doing this, it enables them to be under the military protection of Russia thru at least the year, 2044. As a result, this wipes out any possible threat of a military attack by Turkey or any other country for that matter. Just imagine if Armenia had declined to join the Russian Customs Union, and instead had gone in the path of the West and their “fake democracy.” Under those circumstances, Armenia’s Russian military protection would’ve immediately been terminated, and as a result, both Armenia and Artsakh would’ve ended up becoming vulnerable and weakened. However, due to the smart decision to join the Customs Union, Armenia’s Russian military protection will continue forward for at least thirty years, which means strong military security for Armenia, and not having to worry about an attack from its neighbors.

  6. The geopolitical reality that Armenia’s security is best served by an alliance with Russia should not lead us to a servile attitude as to virtually selling our soules to Putin’s Russia, a corrupt system exacerbated by the increasing concentration of power into one man’s hand. Precisely to avoid total dependance on one camp Armenia has adopted the wise policy of complementarity in her foreign relations. If followed diligently, that policy will give Armenia its deserving weight and place in the politics of the region. As I see, the policy has been dangerously derailed by the corrupt leaders of Armenia and short-sighte defendants who like to see things black-and-white.

  7. When one says that the Republic of Armenia should never sell its soul to Putin’s corrupt Russia, I fully agree. I also believe that the Republic of Armenia should never sell its soul to the equally corrupt and hypocritical West. Anyway, regardless of what we all feel about Russia and the West, the most important issue for Armenia during these troubling times is its national security. This is an extremely important issue that can not be played around with. The bottom line here, is Russian military protection happens to be an absolute necessity for Armenia. There’s no other alternative to this issue. This again explains the reason why Armenia was forced to join the Russian Customs Union. Yes, it really stinks that Russia has so much influence over the Republic of Armenia. However, it would stink just as much if the Republic of Armenia were under the same amount of influence from the West. How beautiful it would be, if Armenia were under nobody’s influence. Unfortunately, that just isn’t the case. On the contrary, in order to survive in this rotten and unjust world today, the Republic of Armenia has no choice other than to align itself with Russia, which as a result, makes it dependent on the Russians. However, let’s not forget that the Russians happen to also be in need of Armenia. After all, Armenia is Russia’s only outlet to the vital Middle East. Therefore, Armenia should always use this to their advantage in dealing with the Russians to show them that they too are dependent on Armenia in regard to their interests in the Middle East.

In terms of the West, just because Armenia happened to join the Russian Customs Union, does not in any particular way imply that it can’t pursue relations with western countries. On the contrary, the Republic of Armenia should always attempt to pursue relations with western countries. As a matter of fact, by doing this, it’ll establish a nice balance with the partnership it has with Russia.

  8. Crimea and Karabakh are nothing alike. Armenia was a tiny state that was victimized by Bolshevik Russia. Russia was an empire and the basis for the Soviet Union. USSR giving Crimea to Ukraine is like Russia giving Crimea to Ukraine. Russia cannot play both the victim and the heir of USSR. Russia created the USSR, the overwhelming majority of Bolsheviks were Russian (not Jews, as some ignorantly claim). Soviet Russia forced Ukraine into the USSR, eventually resulting in the Ukrainian genocide (known as Holodomor).

Krushchev did not and could not act alone: the decision to transfer Crimea to Ukraine was made by the Soviet government, not Krushchev alone. And it was done to compensate Ukraine for the Genocide (Holodomor) in the 1930’s, in which 3-8 million Ukrainians died. Ukraine more than deserved to get Crimea.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor

Significantly, in the case of Karabakh, Azeribaijan did Sumgait and the other massacres and bombed the civilian population of Karabakh. Ukraine did nothing to Crimea. It was a blatant act of aggression by Russia. And Crimea used to belong to Kievan Rus, which was a state as much Ukrainian (if not more) as it was Russian.

Finally, even assuming (huge assumption) that Karabakh and Crimea are alike, that does not mean that NKR and Armenia should jump and take Crimea’s side. You don’t loudly take a side in a global East-West conflict unless you are prepared to pay for the consequences of taking such a stand.

Let’s be proud of brave Armenians such as Garry Kasparov who see who is the evil side in this conflict and who stand up to a thug like Putin.

    http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/03/vladmir-putin-crimea-hitler-1938-104711.html

    • There are certain similarities in the Crimea and Karabakh cases. The most obvious one is that both regions claimed their internationally-recognized right to self-determination.

Armenia was not “victimized” by Bolshevik Russia. Armenians were victimized, in the true sense of the word, by the Ottoman Turks. Whereas Russia has invaded the First Democratic Republic (still a crime though much less barbaric as compared to the genocide) and forcibly made it a part of the Soviet Union in 1922.

Russia did not create the USSR in the true historical sense. A group of revolutionaries, funded by the German government and Jewish financiers, overthrew the legitimate provisional government during the October 1917 takeover and seized power.

And yes, the overwhelming majority of the highest echelons of the Bolshevik party were Jews, not ethnic Russians.

Holodomor was not the direct result of Russia’s forcing Ukraine into the USSR. Millions of ethnic Russians died from the Soviet surplus appropriation system and forced consolidation of individual land and labor into collective farms in the late 1920s and the 1930s. The reasons for the Ukrainian famine are still a subject of scholarly and political debate. Only Ukraine recognized the 1930s’ famine as an act of genocide.

The transfer of Crimea was not done to compensate Ukraine for the Holodomor. There might be other reasons, such as:
      1. a symbolic gesture, marking the 300th anniversary of Ukraine becoming a part of the Russian Empire;
      2. an attempt to reshuffle the centralized Soviet system;
      3. Khrushchev might have been an ethnic Ukrainian, it is known he was very fond of Ukraine;
      4. the desire to place the construction of a hydro-electric dam on the Dniepr River under one administrative body.

    • As you admitted below, john, Holodomor is recognized by a whole bunch of countries. Of course it was not your only mistake.

Just because “there might be other reasons” for Crimea’s transfer to Ukraine does not mean that Holodomor was not the primary reason. Given the scale of tragedy (8 million dead), it was likely was the primary reason to compensate Ukraine. While Russians and other suffered under Soviet Union, the Ukrainians received the brunt of the brutality of the policies.

Kruschev was not Ukrainian. His both parents were Russian. Yes Kruschev was very fond of Ukraine, and for a good reason. He saw the horrific effect of Holodomor on the Ukrainian people firsthand. Yet, he did not have the sole power to transfer Crimea. There was Politburo. The decision was made by the Soviet government. They all knew about Holodomor and most likely felt it was the least that the Ukraine deserved.

The idea that Soviet government was predominantly headed by Jews is a tired conspiracy theory. The reliable sources agree that they were overwhelmingly Russian.

While Germany facilitated Lenin’s entry to Russia in 1917, the group of revolutionaries who overthrew the government were predominantly ethnic Russians and citizens of Russia. So were the masses who supported them during the Civil War. Russia was the basis of the Soviet Union. Whether they were financed by Jews is irrelevant and yet another tired conspiracy mumbo-jumbo.

Invasion and forced inclusion into Soviet Union is victimization. Armenia was victimized by both the Turks and the Russians. Russia was not victimized by Ukraine, it was the other way around. That is one of the key differences between NKR and Crimea.

  9. It’s quite unbelievable how much false information is being continuously uttered by that very same neurotic poster. Anyway, this time, he/she is attempting to convince us that the decision to transfer Crimea from Russia to Ukraine was made to compensate Ukraine for the Ukrainian Genocide in the 1930’s. This explanation is obviously a huge lie, because the truth of the matter is that the former Soviet Union did not recognize the Ukrainian Genocide (Holodomor). It was the Soviet leader, Nikita Khrushchev, who happened to be half-Ukrainian, who transferred Crimea to the Ukrainian SSR, as a symbolic gesture, back in 1954. This certainly does not imply that Ukraine deserves Crimea. As a matter of fact, it does not have the right to possess Crimea. On March 11th of this year, the Supreme Council of Crimea adopted a joint resolution expressing their intention to declare independence from Ukraine as a single united nation with the possibility of joining the Russian federation. In the March 16th referendum, nearly 96 percent of those who participated in the Crimean vote, supported the decision to join Russia. The following day on March 17th, the Crimean parliament officially declared its independence from Ukraine and requested to join the Russian Federation. That’s all there is to it! The people of Crimea chose the path they wanted to go, under the principles of self-determination. Congratulations to them! As for those hypocrite western power countries who’ve been deeply against the Crimean people’s self-determination, this one again shows that they have absolutely no interest in human rights nor social justice.

  10. John,

Ukraine is actually not the only country which recognizes Holodomor as a genocide. There happen to be at least nineteen other countries which also recognize Holodomor as a genocide.

In terms of Crimea, it’s obvious why Khrushchev attached it to Ukraine. He may have called it a “symbolic gesture,” however, his being half Ukrainian, certainly played the biggest part in that particular decision.

Looking back on the Russian invasion of Armenia in November of 1920, that was actually more like a leisurely walk on the boulevard than an invasion. The Armenians had no resistance to throw at the Russians, since they already had their hands full with the Turks. And truthfully speaking, the intrusion of the Russians at that particular moment was certainly most welcome for Armenia. Upon arriving in Yerevan after completing their leisurely walk, the Russians actually did not physically force Armenia to join the former Soviet Union. What they specifically did, is they gave the Armenians an ultimatum, in which they guaranteed the protection of the remaining part of Armenia in return for its entry into the Soviet Union. And, in a wise manner, it chose to join the Soviet Union, which ended up saving the Armenian nation from extinction.

    • Yerevanian, my bad. Some 14 countries did recognize Holodomor as genocide, with 5 others recognizing it as a criminal act of the Stalinist regime or a catastrophe. But, certainly, the transfer of Crimea from the Russian SFSR to the Ukrainian SSR, besides being unconstitutional, was not “to compensate Ukraine for the Holodomor”.

    • I am glad you are admitting at least one of your “bads,” john.

By the way, john, where have you been, buddy? You being the most academic of my handful of opponents, things without you have been a little boring. Like, imagine trying to debate with the one you replied to *snore*.

  11. Mr./Mrs. Democracy,

Do you really believe that the Republics of Armenia and Artsakh actually care about the U.S. style make-pretend democracy that you’re so intensely obsessed with? And where exactly do you plan to do your democracy-pushing? At the Glendale Starbucks coffeehouse?

Are you really serious when you say, “if Armenia adopts a U.S. style democracy, it will in time extend from Kura to Euphrates”? Well, if this were to occur, exactly how would these magic powers be created as a result of a U.S. style democracy? By the way, for your own education, the reason why the United States was able to extend the way it did from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, was because of the genocide it committed upon the Native American Indian people, enabling them to steal their entire lands, and as a result, to expand enormously in size. This certainly does not represent the definition of democracy.

    • Mr./Mrs. “Yerevanian,” some more needed education, as you are requesting. Armenia and “Artsakh” better care for a U.S.-style democracy, or they will be finished in a short while. We know that the people of Armenia care about U.S.-style democracy, since they come to my home town Glendale by thousands to live under that system.

The power to can make Armenia stronger and richer would come from the people (it always does). Under democracy and rule of law, Armenians would chose to live in, work in, serve in, and invest in Armenia, all leading to economic power and military strength. The reason the U.S. emerged as a superpower while its neighbors did not is precisely because of its system, because its system is the only thing that separates it from its neighbors. Of course, if you suggest that genocide is necessary for becoming powerful, we already checked that box (kinda), by ethnically cleansing the Azeris from Armenia. So, that “necessary” step is done.

  12. Mr./Mrs. Democracy,

What exactly do you plan to educate me with? Your schoolbooks from Baku Community College? Your Wikipedia? Or maybe a combination of both? You aren’t even capable of educating your own self. This explains the reason why everything you’ve been saying up to now has been horribly false. Anyway, it’s a pleasure to have you back in my classroom again. Are you ready for some education?

To begin with, the Republics of Armenia and Artsakh have both been very wise in rejecting the “make-pretend democracy” of the United States, as well as rejecting the foul values of the West. If they had travelled down that route, they most definitely would be finished by now. And, the reason for this, is that the Russians would’ve immediately withdrawn their whole entire military protection of Armenia, leaving it open for a devastating attack by Turkey. However, Armenia selected the right path in joining the Russian Customs Union, which automatically maintains its Russian military protection thru at least the year 2044, enabling it to be safe as well as its baby brother, Artsakh.

The reason why many Armenians throughout the years have come to live in the United States, has absolutely nothing to do with democracy. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of people who immigrate to the United States, know very little about democracy such as yourself. The reason why people come to the United States, is because of the image they have of it. They think the United States is the same United States that they see in movies, music videos, and magazines, where there is money everywhere, where people are so extremely friendly, and where you can practically get a house and brand new car for free. Unfortunately, the United States isn’t anywhere close to that make-pretend image. And, for your own education, the United States is actually not the top destination for Armenians. It is Russia, who happens to be the number one destination for Armenian immigrants. This explains the reason why Russia happens to have an Armenian population of 2.5 million, as opposed to the United States, which has an Armenian population of six to seven hundred thousand. And, what’s amusing about all this, is that Russia has even less democracy than the United States.

Once again, having a democracy does not automatically produce military strength and economic power. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. If we take a look at the two non-democratic countries of Russia and China, they both happen to be military superpowers just like the United States. In terms of economic power, there are actually many economically prosperous countries out there, which don’t happen to be democracies, such as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Kuwait, and China. As a matter of fact, contrary to your false claim that the United States is the most economically prosperous country, it actually happens to be number 24.

For your own education, the decision to attach Crimea to Ukraine, was not made by the Soviet government in connection to the Ukrainian Genocide, as you falsely attempt to establish. How can that possibly be when the Russians to this very day, have never once recognized Holodomor? This particular decision was made by Khrushchev, obviously because of his Ukrainian roots.

By the way, when did I ever say that “genocide is necessary for being powerful”? You need to go back and carefully reread my previous post instead of sitting here and making up false information about everything and everyone.

Are you so desperate that now you’re going to accuse Armenia of commiting a genocide against your Azeri compatriots? Forcing 150 thousand Azeris to leave Artsakh is nowhere close to being the definition of a genocide. Since we’re on this subject, why don’t we talk about the 400 thousand Armenians who were forced out of Azerbaijan.

Anyway, make sure to return back, so I can furnish you with some more education.

    • Mr./Mrs. “yerevanian,” here is some more education. Kruschev was not Ukrainian. He was Russian, from both parents. If you think he was Ukrainian, I challenge you to give one reliable source. Time for some homework.

Armenians go to Russia because it’s closer, and they know the language. After moving to Russia, many move to the U.S. No Armenian goes from U.S. to Russia.

Besides Armenians, 1 million other people permanently move to U.S. each year. No other country comes close. They can’t all be fooled by the image. If they were, they would return.
Armenians move to the U.S. because they want freedom, opportunity, rule of law. All results of democracy.

The U.S. is several times more powerful militarily than Russia and China. In fact, its military budget is greater than the next 10-15 countries combined. The U.S. economy is over 16 trillion dollars, which is 16 times as much as Russia, and twice as much as China. Clearly, the U.S. is the wealthiest country in the world, all a result of its democracy. Your lack of awareness of basic facts is quite amusing.

Of course Russians do not recognize the Ukrainian genocide. They committed it. Just like Turks do not recognize the Armenian Genocide. Does not mean it did not happen.

You claimed that the U.S. became powerful because it committed genocide. It is pure nonsense, but I humored you, pointing out that we Armenians cleared that necessary step by removing Azeris from Armenia. Tell me which part of it you do not understand.

  13. Mr./Mrs. democracy,

The explanation which you give as to the reason why so many more Armenians immigrate to Russia as compared to the United States is extremely absurd just like all of your other explanations. The truth of the matter here, is Russia happens to have an Armenian population which is around four times larger than the United States. There’s no possible way you can go against that. More Armenians immigrate to Russia than any other country in the world.

On the topic of Khrushchev, I happened to read about him in a Russian history book, which stated that he was “half-Ukrainian.” It sounds good enough to me. After all, if he really wasn’t half-Ukrainian, then why would they indicate something contrary to that?

Once again, the United States is clearly not the most economically prosperous country in the world. It’s number 24.

So now you finally agree that the Russians never once recognized the Ukrainian Genocide? Well, that’s certainly not what you were uttering previously.

This is already the second time in a row that you have failed to comprehend what I wrote in my previous post in regard to the genocide committed against the original Americans (Native American Indians) by the United States. I precisely said, “the reason why the United States was able to extend the way it did from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean, was because of the genocide it committed upon the Native American Indian people, enabling them to steal their entire lands, and as a result, to expand enormously in size.” In other words, as the United States drove westward seeking more and more land, it would wipe out the Native American Indian inhabitants of those particular lands, due to the reason that they happened to be in its way.

Just because a country happens to have a huge land area, does not necessarily mean it is militarily powerful. Canada is even bigger than the United States in land area, but yet, does not possess a powerful military. As usual, you fail to comprehend what you read.

In terms of humor, you don’t even know what humor is. On the contrary, your statements are all filled with a combination of vulgarity and absurdity. Exactly where’s the humor when you were previously saying that Armenia committed a genocide against your Azeri compatriots by driving them out of Armenia? That’s not the definition of humor. That’s the definition of a desperate Turkbaijani attempting to create extremely false information about Armenians.
