AGBU YP of Boston Christmas Party Sets Fundraising Record

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—On the evening of Fri., Jan. 10, the AGBU Young Professionals of Boston held their 4th Annual Armenian Christmas Party Fundraiser at the restaurant Nubar in Cambridge’s historic Sheraton Commander Hotel. Young professionals from throughout the northeast attended the holiday festivities, where they enjoyed appetizers and cocktails in the bar and lounge area of Nubar, all while supporting an urgent cause.

Given the increasingly dire circumstances in Syria, the young professionals chose to raise funds for the AGBU’s Syria Emergency Relief Fund. The 4th Annual Christmas party was the group’s most well-attended event to date and set a new fundraising record, with $1,500 pledged to AGBU’s Syria Emergency Relief Fund. Last year, the group partnered with the Armenian American Social Club in Watertown to host a charity dinner for Syrian-Armenian relief.

The current AGBU YP Boston Steering Committee is comprised of Irina Nanagoulian, chairperson; Laura Michael, vice chair; Charlie Larkin, secretary; Haik Diloyan, treasurer; and committee members Areg Bagdasarian, Julie Fabbrucci, Narine Karepetyan, Chris Mensoian, Alex Merian, and Nicole Meregian.

The next YP event will be ice-skating at Boston’s Frog Pond on Sun., Jan. 26, beginning at 2 p.m., followed by hot chocolate at Max Brenner. A networking happy hour scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 6, at Beat Hotel in Cambridge.
