From 2010-11, Mouradian made four trips to historic Armenia, including two trips to Dikranagerd/Diyarbakir on the occasion of the reconstruction of the Surp Giragos Church. In this lecture, he recounts his experiences, provides insight on the political and cultural landscape of the region, and shares with the audience a trove of photographs from his trips.

The talk, titled “The Last of the Armenians: Impressions from Dikranagerd and the surrounding Villages,” is organized by the ARF Chicago Christapor gomideh.

Mouradian is the editor of the Weekly, a Ph.D. candidate in Holocaust and genocide studies at Clark University, and the program coordinator of the Armenian Genocide Program at Rutgers University.

The lecture will be held at the Armenian All Saints Church and Community Center (1701 N. Greenwood Rd., Glenview, Ill.) at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Below is a short video clip, prepared by the organizers, announcing the lecture and providing background on Dikranagerd.
