Pallone Awarded Order of Honor by Armenia

WASHINGTON—On Feb. 22, Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) was awarded the Order of Honor of the Republic of Armenia at a ceremony at the Armenian Embassy in the U.S. marking the 15th anniversary of the Congressman’s work as founding co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues.

In presenting the award on behalf of President Serge Sarkisian, Armenia’s ambassador to the U.S., Tatul Markarian, said the award demonstrated Armenia’s appreciation of his devoted activity during the course of the 15 years and his contribution to the strengthening of U.S.-Armenia relations.

Markarian added that the award also was an expression of gratitude from the Armenian American community for his activism on issues of concern to the United States.

In accepting the award, Pallone expressed his gratitude to Sarkisian and said he would continue to advocate on behalf of Armenia, Karabagh, and the Armenian people.
