Obituary: Kevork Y. Vichabian, 70

Kevork Y. Vichabian of Seekonk, Mass., passed away Dec. 13 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I. He was the beloved husband of Marlene (Merdinian) Vichabian.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, he was the son of the late Yervant and Elize (Torossian) Vichabian.
Kevork was a clerk at the American Mathematical Society in Providence for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, ARF “Kristapor” Gomideh, Hamazkayin, and Homenetmen.

He was the devoted father of Sossi Pomakian and her husband Hagop of Woodland Hills, Calif., Zovig Chobanian of Simi Valley, Calif., and Yervant Vichabian and his wife Erin of North Dighton, Mass.; loving and cherished grandfather of Hovig, Harout, Aleen, and Alexander; and dear brother of Anahid Badjian and Arshalous Taslakian, both of Beirut.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence. Relatives and friends may call at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave. in Cranston, on Fri., Dec. 17 from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Swan Point Cemetery in Providence.
