Armenia Comes in First at Junior Eurovision

YEREVAN (A.W.)–On Nov. 20, the Junior Eurovision song contest concluded with Armenia’s Vladimir Arzumanyan coming out the winner.

Arzumanyan, 12, hails from the city of Stepanakert in Nagorno-Karabagh. According to his profile, posted on the Junior Eurovision site, Arzumanyan comes from a family of music teachers and is currently enrolled in the Lyceum of Arts.

Fourteen countries competed in the 8th Junior Eurovision contest. Russia’s Liza Drozd and Sasha Lazin came in second with their song “Boy and Girl.” Serbia’s Sonja Skoric claimed third place with “Carobna Noc/Magical Night.”
