Sept. 24 marked Back to School Night at the Armenian Sisters Academy in Radnor, Pa. The evening began with excellent attendance by parents and new Parent-Teacher Council chairperson Liz Mazmanian. Liz introduced her talented executive members Arminé Arthin (secretary), Tina Lion (vice-chairperson), and Jackie Mangasarian (treasurer). She thanked all volunteers for being the heart and soul of the school.

Featured topics included a re-vamped hot lunch program with healthier options. Parents were encouraged to volunteer for and attend P.O.S.H. (Perpetuate Our School Heritage), which marks its 25th anniversary this year. The current Board of Directors was also introduced.

In her message for the 2009-10 school year, Principal Sister V. Louisa Kassarjian encouraged parents to take an active role in their children’s education. The vice principal for academic affairs, Dolores Wood, explained her responsibilities and introduced those faculty members who spoke about their subjects of music, gym and health, art, and library.

Parents then broke off to visit their children’s classrooms, to speak with teachers, and see for themselves the exciting learning environment provided by the school.
