Annual WCSS Conference (Greenfield, Wisc.)

ANNUAL WCSS CONFERENCE. The theme for this year’s Wisconsin Council for the Social Studies (WCSS) Conference is “Global Challenges and Changes.” The ANC of Wisconsin has joined with the Pontian Greek Society of Chicago and the St. John Armenian Church in Greenfield to reserve a booth under the “Genocide Education Network” name to promote books and curriculum packages on the Armenian and Greek Genocides. The conference is open to all Wisconsin social studies teachers. At the Madison Marriott West, 13 John Q. Hammons Drive 13 in Middleton. March 17—Ron Levitsky, a retired social studies teacher and member of the Genocide Education Network of Illinois, will present a two-hour session at the conference titled “Despair, Death, and Denial: The Armenian and Greek Genocides.” Teachers will receive copies of the genocide unit prepared by the Choices Program at Brown University. From 8-10 a.m.
