Now that the 100th anniversary commemorations are over, the question was asked to those in attendance, “What will you do next?” Many potential members were invited to come see what the ARS is doing and how they can help. ARS Cambridge “Shushi” Chapter President Heather Krafian welcomed those in attendance. She expressed the need for more members to help share the heavy load of social service and charitable work the ARS conducts all around the globe, not just in our own communities. “Many hands make light work,” noted Krafian. “The more members, the more hands and many more new and creative ideas to help fundraise. This is what is needed.”

Missy Simonian, past ARS Regional Member and Providence “Ani” Chapter member, presented a wonderful PowerPoint presentation on all the ongoing ARS projects and programs, as well as a video highlighting the popular ARS “Youth Connect” event at NYU every February for college-age students.

The event was a great success. It helped present the work the ARS does around the globe and in our own backyard. It was informative not just for perspective members, but also helped educate the membership to be proud of all the projects and hard work of the many Ungerouhis throughout the United States, Canada, and the world. “With the People, for the People!” Join the ARS to assist to work “for the People!”

The ARS Cambridge “Shushi” Chapter meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month from September to June at the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC), Lachinian Board Room, 47 Nichols Ave., Watertown. For more information, call Krafian at (781) 856-7375. All are welcome to join.
