Armenian Museum Honors Supporters, Dedicates Hall

WATERTOWN, Mass.—On Sat., Nov. 22, 2014, the Armenian Museum held a special dedication event to celebrate the official opening of the newly renovated Adele and Haig Der Manuelian Galleries (formerly known as the Contemporary Gallery) located on the third floor. The splendidly renovated and expanded art galleries provide an intimate yet spacious setting for the numerous art exhibits held throughout the year. This renovation and the reconfigured walls led to a substantial gain in usable space, and the harmonious new look truly shows off the museum’s collection of contemporary art.

Guests were welcomed by the museum’s director, Berj Chekijian. Executive Vice President Michele Kolligian then spoke warmly about the Der Manuelians and their incredible vision in creating an institution that today is enjoyed by visitors from all over the world. The Dedication Ceremony began with a blessing from long-time museum trustee Rev. Father Krikor Sabounjian, of the Armenian Church of the Holy Translators in Framingham, after which the ribbon was cut by Haig Der Manuelian.
