Poem: The Road Back Home…

The Road Back Home…

By Avik Derentz
Translated by Tatul Sonentz

How to live – how,

Under alien skies…

Where sorrow feeds on sorrow?

How not to think of demise

With this dread of tomorrow,

When my soul’s songs, likewise,

Start to sound hollow…?

How I long to see

Springtime bloom once more,

Find the path to dreams, bright and free…

To fill my soul, drench and restore

My heart with sunshine and be

Able to breathe once more

The warm aroma of my native soil…

My inspiration

Oversees my words’ pace,

As the soul guides heart’s evolution,

Arranging space

For eternal life’s elation…

As I, now seek the road back to the place

That I call my sole space

In all creation…
