Laurie Alvandian

Laurie Alvandian is an Armenian-American librarian and library advocate based in Yerevan. She is the president and co-founder of Open Book Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting literacy and access to information in Armenia through educational programming related to books, libraries and library resources, reading, languages and the literary arts. She currently works as a lead specialist in the National Library of Armenia’s International Relations Department. She earned her master's degree in information and library science from Pratt Institute in 2012.
