Robert's Scrolls

Reunion

We had a family reunion recently. Originally, six were scheduled to attend but the number crept to eleven. Some drove almost two hours for fried seafood plates by the ocean’s edge. Diets be damned. New Englanders are suckers for such a meal, with ice cream afterward.

A restaurant popular with locals and tourists was chosen for the special noon occasion. Fortunately, we found two adjacent tables to accommodate our crowd and claimed them. Unbeknownst to us, while we took our time determining who was going to have what, a busload of retired tourists showed up. Naturally, they got in line ahead of us, but that was fine, for we continued evaluating our lunch options while in line. Once we had our trays, we finally settled into the reason we were there.
