Pres. Trump is not worthy of recognizing the Armenian Genocide

After both houses of Congress, one overwhelmingly and the other unanimously, adopted two Resolutions in recent weeks recognizing the Armenian Genocide, many were hoping that this would lead Pres. Trump to also recognize it in his upcoming April 24, 2020 statement, even though he is not obligated to do so. After all, a total of 505 members of both houses of Congress had supported both Resolutions with only 11 opposing them, which placed over 94-percent of the US Congress in favor. However, Pre

  1. Where are you going with such articles?
What does this prove? This helps no one.

Most of what you said is personal opinion, rarely facts were used.

In fact you are blaming Trump personally on something State Department spokeswoman said, which was also not denying the Genocide but referred the persons who asked to the April 24th statement, which last I checked, that was in the past. Now you are holding not only the State Department spokes person but also Trump himself for something happened in the future, after April 24th, 2019.

How is Trump’s statement different that Obama? Bush43? Bill Clinton?
Why is he the only one held to a different standard?
Where was this anger and demands to impeach during the Obama years?

You don’t like him, I get that. But maybe you should have a better approach if you or others are expecting him to break the cycle of Washington and use the word Genocide in the annual April 24th White House statement.
Otherwise, stuff like this does not help our cause.
Find a way to get to the president instead of attacking him, with mostly false stuff I might add.

You are also trying to tell others how and who to vote. all that while lamenting

  2. Once again I would urge us to not focus on comments that
serve no real purpose …. other than dividing the Armenian
community over partisan American politics. The premise is absurd. If Trump were to recognize the genocide , would we
“reject” his decision? Of course not. We need a broader perspective on this issue and nit reacting to current events. I like many of Harut’s comments… not this one.

  3. I have to agree with Hrout; as a second generation Armenian Genocide survivor, I have had enough of mealy mouthed excuses to avoid the glaring truth of the horrific Armenian Genocide in which 2 million people of the Armenian race belonging to the earliest Christian nation, were murdered, raped, tortured, by wanton Turkish primeval savagery; and for this President to bring and, over the top, praise that thing from Ankara in the Roosevelt room (named after the greatest US president and friend of the Armenians who loathed the Turks) was a disgrace!
