Azerbaijani Forces Continue to Violate Ceasefire

STEPANAKERT, NKR (A.W.)—Azerbaijani forces fired over 1,400 shots at Armenian positions along the Nagorno-Karabagh (NKR/Artsakh) Line of Contact (LoC) on the night of Sept. 11-12. The NKR Defense Ministry reported that rifle shots were fired towards Armenian position-holders, in what constituted over 80 ceasefire violations by Azerbajani Armed Forces.

The NKR Defense Ministry did not report any Armenian casualties and said that NKR servicemen maintained their military positions and responded when necessary.

On Sept. 10, Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters that Armenians would “fight for every inch of land” if anything happened to the civilian population of Artsakh. “The adversary [Azerbaijan] continues to reject the creation of a climate of trust at the [NKR] LoC,” Ohanyan said, adding, “this enables us to say that we cannot speak about mutual agreements without the creation of a climate of trust.”

While speaking to reporters, Ohanyan also said that the Armenian side expects the NKR conflict to be resolved only under pacific political conditions.

  1. why are the Armenian forces allowing this to happen on a continuous basis. as long as there is no retaliation, the enemy will continue. Armenia is giving the impression that it’s ok to violate.
I don’t get it. the road to baku can’t be that far.
