From Minneapolis, with Love

Monica Little has never been to Armenia, but the Minneapolis-based graphic design firm she founded, Little & Company, donated money in 2006 to Habitat for Humanity Armenia to build a home for the Lortikyan family. The family of four lives in the village of Margahovit in the Lori region of northern Armenia.

The website www.littlelovesong.com was launched just in time for Valentine’s Day for people to write their own clever love song within minutes, listen to it with a male or female voice, and e-mail it to a loved one.

“We were so excited that our donation could make such a difference for a family,” Little told the Armenian Weekly. “Our entire team was touched to see the meaningful results of their efforts.” The firm’s graphic designers, ever the students of fonts, were also intrigued by the origins of the Armenian alphabet.

Now Little & Company is spreading love in another way. The website www.littlelovesong.com was launched just in time for Valentine’s Day for people to write their own clever love song within minutes, listen to it with a male or female voice, and e-mail it to a loved one. Whether the user chooses a song style that is quirky, romantic, or sassy, the result is charming.

Will a future version include Armenian lyrics? Joe Cecere, president and chief creative officer, says, “You’ll have to talk to my Italian relatives first.”
