Poghosyan Piano Performance (New York)

DEC. 11, 2011 * ‘LISZT IN ITALY’. Pianist Karine Poghosyan performs “Years of Pilgrimage, Second Year: Italy,” Franz Liszt’s suite for solo piano composed after he toured Italy in the 1830’s. The program—which also features a reading by Paolo Valesio of poetry by Michelangelo, Salvator Rosa, Petrarch, and Dante—is in celebration of the 200^th anniversary of Liszt’s birth. Begins at 6 p.m. at the Italian Academy at Columbia University, 1161 Amsterdam Ave., just south of 118^th St. in New York. The event is free and open to the public.
