ARF Plans 120th Anniversary Events

WATERTOWN, Mass.—The ARF Central Committee has announced a series of events to mark the organization’s 120th anniversary this fall. Commemorative events will take place in communities throughout the eastern United States, culminating with a regional event to be held in New York/New Jersey in November. To this end, the party has formed a committee of ARF activists who are busy planning these activities.

The weekend of Nov. 20-21 has been set aside for the culminating events, featuring a high-end fundraising dinner on Saturday evening, followed by a seminar/forum on Sunday afternoon with noted speakers.

Both events will take place in the New York/New Jersey area, at sites to be announced. Members and supporters of the ARF are asked to reserve the date and help make the anniversary a resounding success.

Representing the Central Committee are Antranig Kasbarian, George Aghjayan, and Ari Killian. The anniversary committee is chaired by Angele Manoogian, and joined by secretary Tom Vartabedian, Vasken Aivazian, Talin Daghlian, Harout Jamgotchian, and Zohrab Tazian.

Conference calls are taking place each week leading up to the commemoration. A hotel will be arranged for overnight accommodations.

Three specific facets will be underscored: re-emphasizing the mission and accomplishments of the ARF, a better understanding of ARF work inside community circles, and an opportunity to raise much-needed funds for the organization. The intent is to create a high-quality celebration that includes discussion and critique featuring prestigious speakers.
