The Armenian National Committee (ANC) of Massachusetts announced its endorsement of Steve Grossman for Massachusetts State Treasurer this week. Grossman is running for the Democratic nomination in the primary that will take place on Tues., Sept. 14. He has been an outspoken supporter of Armenian issues and has committed himself to promoting trade between Massachusetts and Armenia if elected.
“When the Anti Defamation League [ADL] was confronted with its lobbying against the Armenian Genocide Resolution in Congress, Steve was one of the highest profile members of the Jewish community who publicly called ADL president Abe Foxman to account and demanded that the organization reverse its unconscionable position,” said Dikran Kaligian, co-chairman of the ANC of Massachusetts.
Grossman pledged to continue the fight to end the ADL’s genocide denial and to use the “bully pulpit” of the treasurer’s office to press Congress to pass the resolution in a statement issued to the ANC last month.
Steve Grossman is chairman of Grossman Marketing Group in Somerville, a leading figure in numerous charitable organizations, and a long-time political activist. He has served as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee and the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
