LOWELL, Mass.—The Lowell “Aharonian” Gomideh will present an illustrated talk on Turkey by Armenian Weekly editor Khatchig Mouradian on Sept. 17, at the ARS Community Center, 142 Liberty St. in Lowell.

The presentation will coincide with the 19th anniversary of Armenian Independence Day inside the New Republic of Armenia.

Mouradian’s presentation is titled, “The Sound of Footsteps: Commemorating the Armenian Genocide in Turkey.”

Known for his informative and exhilarating programs, Mouradian will discuss his trip to Turkey in March and on April 24-25.

On April 24, Mouradian presented a lecture and attended unprecedented Armenian Genocide commemoration events in that city.

His talk will reflect the context of current political developments in Turkey.

Previous talks were presented to area communities in Watertown, Chicago, Detroit, Providence, and San Francisco.

In his role as editor of the Armenian Weekly, Mouradian has taken the organ to a new level with the introduction of magazine issues as well as other initiatives designed to create a more diversified and well-read publication.
